Câu giả định

Subjunctive

Sau suggest, recommend, insist, require, It is essential that…: động từ giữ nguyên mẫu (that he attend).

Sau các từ mang nghĩa đề nghị, yêu cầu, sự cần thiết, động từ trong mệnh đề that giữ nguyên mẫu với mọi chủ ngữ: không thêm -s, không chia thì, không có to.

Sau động từ đề nghị, yêu cầu

suggest, recommend, propose, insist, request, require, demand, ask, urge, advise

S + suggest / recommend… + that + S + V nguyên mẫu
The manager suggested that he attend the meeting.
Quản lý đề nghị anh ấy tham dự cuộc họp.
We recommend that every employee complete the training.
Chúng tôi khuyến nghị mọi nhân viên hoàn thành khoá đào tạo.

Phủ định: not + V; bị động: be + V3.

They requested that the meeting not be recorded.
Họ yêu cầu cuộc họp không được ghi âm.
The committee requires that all forms be submitted by Friday.
Uỷ ban yêu cầu mọi đơn phải được nộp trước thứ Sáu.

Tiếng Anh Anh hay thêm should: suggested that he should attend cũng đúng.

Sau tính từ chỉ sự cần thiết, quan trọng

essential, important, necessary, vital, crucial, imperative, advisable

It is essential / important… that + S + V nguyên mẫu
It is essential that every applicant submit a résumé.
Điều thiết yếu là mọi ứng viên phải nộp sơ yếu lý lịch.
It is important that the data be accurate.
Điều quan trọng là dữ liệu phải chính xác.

Sau danh từ cùng nghĩa

suggestion, recommendation, requirement, request, proposal + that:

The proposal that the plant be closed was rejected.
Đề xuất đóng cửa nhà máy đã bị bác bỏ.

suggest dùng thế nào cho đúng

  • suggest + V-ing (không nói ai làm): He suggested postponing the meeting.
  • suggest + that + S + V nguyên mẫu: He suggested that we postpone the meeting.
  • Không dùng suggest + tân ngữ + to V.

Bị động trong câu giả định là be + V3.

suggest không đi với tân ngữ + to V.
