Đại từ chủ ngữ và tân ngữ
Chủ ngữ đứng trước động từ. Tân ngữ đứng sau động từ hoặc sau giới từ.
Tính từ sở hữu và đại từ sở hữu
Tính từ sở hữu (my, your, its, their…) luôn đi kèm một danh từ. Đại từ sở hữu (mine, yours, theirs…) đứng một mình, thay cho cả cụm tính từ sở hữu + danh từ.
Đại từ phải khớp với danh từ nó thay thế
Danh từ số ít, kể cả danh từ chỉ tổ chức như company, team, committee, thường dùng it / its.
Đại từ phản thân (myself, themselves…) xem ở Đại từ phản thân; đại từ bất định (someone, another, the other) xem ở Đại từ bất định; another, other, the other.
Những cặp viết khác nhau nhưng đọc giống nhau

Lỗi hay gặp
✗ Me and my colleague will attend the meeting.
✓ My colleague and I will attend the meeting.
Làm chủ ngữ thì dùng I; lịch sự hơn khi để mình đứng sau.
✗ Please send the file to Tom and I.
✓ Please send the file to Tom and me.
Sau giới từ (to) dùng tân ngữ me.
✗ The company has changed it's logo.
✓ The company has changed its logo.
"Của nó" là its, không có dấu nháy. it's nghĩa là it is.
✗ This is my laptop, not your.
✓ This is my laptop, not yours.
Đứng một mình, không có danh từ theo sau, thì dùng đại từ sở hữu yours.
